BankFIRST Winter Park Announces New Area President

Winter Park, Florida –Donald J. McGowan, President and CEO of BankFIRST, announced today that Gail M.McDaniel has joined the BankFIRST Winter Park office in the role of Area President. “We are pleased to welcome Gail to BankFIRST. Her commitment to cultivating business and individual banking relationships makes her a wonderful addition in the role of Area President for greater Winter Park,” McGowan said.

“Gail will be a tremendous asset to the BankFIRST team. Our Winter Park clients will benefit from her nearly 22 years of experience in various facets of consumer and commercial lending,” said David A. Felker, BankFIRST Executive Vice President and Commercial Group Leader.

Previous to BankFIRST, McDaniel was employed with Fifth Third Bank, where she held the role of Vice President, Business Banking Officer in Seminole County. Prior to that position, she was Vice President and Business Banking Officer for SunTrust Bank in Winter Park, where her many responsibilities included the generation of new commercial loan relationships, Commercial Real Estate Lending, Commercial Loans, SBA Lending, Business Lines of Credit and Equipment Loans, Residential Mortgages, Home Equity Lines of Credit and Personal Loans in the Seminole and Orange County markets. She was also instrumental in the formation of SunTrust’s Business Banking Program in Volusia County, prior to relocating to the Seminole/ Orange county area in 2003.

In the early 1990’s, McDaniel served as Assistant Vice President at First State Bank of Florida, formerly located in Deltona. She began her banking career in 1985 as a Consumer Lender at First Union National Bank.

A alumnus of the University of Central Florida, McDaniel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. She is also a graduate of Leadership Southwest Volusia.
